The Tender Type 431 Jacket takes some of the best parts of William Krolls work and merges them in to one garment. Here you’ll see the body panels of the Butterfly shirt, the pockets of the Wallaby Shirt and the inverted raglan sleeve of the Zoetrope Coat. Whether worn as an over-shirt or jacket, this piece is the ideal summer companion.
This model is rinsed to shrink and has been made from a custom woven Cotton Taunton fabric. The broken twill cloth weighs 11oz and was historically a standard of the town of Taunton, in Somerset in the South West of England.
This garment is then dyed in England using dye naturally extracted from Juglans Nigra, The Black Walnut. The first recorded use of this dye dates back as far as ancient Rome, where it was used as hair dye and re discovered across medieval Europe. Artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt and Van Dyke have also used inks made from concentrated walnut.
