The Periscope Pocket Tail Shirt earns its name from the specially designed pockets it features which can be accessed from the middle and top. This design allows the pockets to be used as a hand warmers as well as for storing large items.
Always seeking or creating new and inspired cloths, the shirt itself has been cut from cotton woven in England which is originally used to soak up machine oil in an engineering parts factory.
This piece has been dyed with Indian Black, which is derived from a naturally occurring iron oxide from India. This pigment has been used in the west since 77CE and is thought to be the original source of lamp black and India ink. As with all natural colours, Indian Black is less predictable than modern synthetic dyes and any colour transfer, inconsistency, irregularity, or fading is a desirable characteristic.
